| Tiivistelmä: | Electronic data interchange (EDI) is mainly used by companies to facilitate purchasing transactions. As this trend continues, what effect will EDI have on the organization and on the purchasing department. The results of a study indicate that the impact of EDI is moderated by the volume of transactions using EDI. Its adoption requires different skills and training for buyers , and it changes the relationships with its suppliers. The implications for purchasing executives are discussed. |
