| Tiivistelmä: | This article focuses on the sourcing element of purchasing's responsibilities , specifically single sourcing. A discussion of the buyer/seller relationship as an essential part of Japan's industrial system is presented, including the impact the Japanese system has on the sourcing decision. This is followed supported by some recent survey findings. Finally, the question of convergence is addressed, including the issue of 'transportability' of management practices across cultures. |
