| Tiivistelmä: | In the present paper, the case of an EC-wide carbon/energy tax is considered. It is examined how the macroeconomic and sectoral impacts of the tax in one country are influenced by the way in which the tax revenue is recycled in that particular country and in other countries. A computable general equilibrium model of West Germany and the rest of the Ec is used to examine the effect of carbon/energy taxation for any pair-wise combination of different ways of revenue recycling. A key finding is that the effect of the tax on German exports is strongly influenced by the behaviour of the other EC countries. |
