| Tiivistelmä: | Beginning in 1991 the Japanese economy underwent a long process of adjustment due to the collapse of the bubble economy, last year's Hanshin-Awaji earthquake disaster, and the drastic appreciation of the yen, but it has slowly been overcoming the economic stagnation as a result of the effects of several government economic countermeasures, a decrease in the official discount rate, and the recent deprecation of the yen. The content of the economic recovery has expanded from the public works and housing investment-driven recovery of the past to a facilities investment-driven recovery. |
