| Tiivistelmä: | In this article the extant innovation research from economics,organizational sociology and technology management is reviewed in order to find points at which the fields' assumptions and approaches overlap. The results indicate that researchers within specific fields might benefit from being more self-conscious about the advantages and limits of particular approach. Researchers and managers can benefit from viewing the map of innovation research in its entirety. Knowing the ways in which different groups of studies differ from each other could lead to a more accurate understanding of the relative value of different approaches to innovation research. |
