| Tiivistelmä: | This paper is to provide an economic perspective to the issues of critical importance to the Dearing Review, and to identify questions that need to be addressed empirically if the Committee is to successfully fulfill its remit. The focus is on the economic aspects of the challenges facing higher education. Many of the concerns about standards are implicitly based on the possible conflict between widening access to higher education, and maintaining high quality universities and the traditional standards of UK degrees. |
