| Tiivistelmä: | Unsolved Problems in Transaction Cost Theory. The author examines the relationship between the transaction cost theory and the other approaches in organizational economics. He shows that a complementary relationship exists between the transaction cost theory and the resource-based and evolutionary theory. The aim of the transaction cost theory is to explain the coordination function and the goal of the resource-based and evolutionary approach is to explain the innovation function of the firm. In addition the article discusses the main critique of the transaction cost theory. |
