| Tiivistelmä: | The essay is divided into four parts: (1) Communication theory and communication policy; (2) Liberalization and democratization of telecommunications; (3) Community and transportatin in U.S. communication policy; (4) Conclusion. In the concluding section, drawing upon the theoretical framework the author links liberalization with a transmission model and democratization with a CCD model and shows how the transmission and the CCR models of communication can be integrated to provide the basis for a more fully democratized telecommunications policy in the context of a liberalized global economy. |
