| Tiivistelmä: | The role of group identification in the selection of and cooperation with leaders to manage public good dilemmas, is investigated. The is a general preference to select leaders with a legitimate power base, but these preferences are particularly pronounced when people's identification with their group is high rather than low. When group identification is low, an instrumental leader is far more efficient than a relationnal leader in raising contributions. Both leader types appear to be equally efficient when group identification is high. |
