| Tiivistelmä: | This study introduces absorptive capacity as a principle governing the relationship between knowledge possession and knowledge search among prospective international cooperative venture partners. Two alternative hypotheses are juxtaposed: firms will seek knowledge in the same area pertaining to their knowledge base ; firms will seek knowledge complementary to theri own. The relationship between the type of knowledge sought and the preferred governance mode is explored. |
