| Tiivistelmä: | This study investigates the dynamics of chart success in the U.K. pre-recorded popular music industry over the period 1980 to 1993 using the British album chart listings. It is found that the incidence of chart success is substantially skewed to the right, whether measured by total weeks spent per artist, average weeks spent per album, or the total number of albums listed by artist. |
