| Tiivistelmä: | This paper presents an economic framework and a computational methodology for assessing the evolution of woodfuel supply costs and the spatial distribution of biomass in a Sahelian woodland setting. Given an exogenously specified demand, the model simulates the extraction, regeneration, and transport of wood fuels. The model is applied to evaluate the benefit and ecological impacts of scenarios for woodland management around the city of N'Djamena, Chad. |
