| Tiivistelmä: | The purpose of this article is, first, to explain the characteristics of the SCM Agreement and the OECD Arrangement relating to export insurance, and second, to describe the institutional aspects and actual functioning of the export insurance regime in Korea. Implications for the appropriate regulations in the global trading system are then drawn from the experience of Korea with respect to export insurance. The structure of the article is the following. Section II lays out the relevant provisions in the SCM Agreement of the WTO and the OECD Arrangement. Section III introduces the Korean export insurance regime. Section IV describes the utilization of export insurance and the country cover policy in Korea. Conclusions are provided in section V. |
