| Tiivistelmä: | In this paper the authors state that they are delighted to present an article, which celebrates the history of the European Accounting Association, with both the facts and figures, and more personal accounts of the events which have occurred. These historical accounts are accompanied by three articles taking up areas which have been important for European accounting research in the past and also in the future. The anniversary issue opens with Salvador Carmona's detailed and comprehensive history of the EAA prepared from documents held in the archives in Brussels. This article also indicates the substitution of the initial Anglo-Saxon- Northern European dominance by a more comprehensive European focus within the EAA -of course a most welcomed development of the organization. |
