| Tiivistelmä: | The author notes that Corden has distinguished three stages of thought with respect to laissez-faire and free trade. In the first stage free trade developed simultaneously with laissez faire. In the second stage various arguments for protection were advanced along with the qualifications to free trade and laissez faire. In the third stage, the link between the case for three trade and laissez faire was broken. The author claims that the fourth stage in the evolution of relationship between free trade and laissez faire is now needed. According to the author, in the fourth stage, the wheel comes full circle and restores the marriage of laissez faire and free trade. |
