| Tiivistelmä: | This article addresses two research questions: 1) Does technological competence enhance company performance? 2) Does competitor imitation of company knowledge hurt performance? In the resource-based view, the basic premises are the relationships between technological competence, imitability and performance. The author develops measures of technological competence and imitability. These variables are tested together with measures of marketing and regulatory competence for their impact on company performance in the pharmaceutical industry. |
