Tiivistelmä:Feminist economists are not identified with one particular economic paradigm, yet some common methodological points seem to be emerging. The author of this article proposes making these starting points more explicit so that they can be examined, crtiqued and built upon. The author uses the term "social provisioning" to describe this emerging methodology. Its main five components are: 1) Incorporation of caring and unpaid labour as fundamental economic activities, 2) Use of well-being as a measure of economic success, 3) Analysis of economic, political and social processes and power relations, 4) Inclusion of ethical goals and values as an intrinsic part of the analysis and 5) Interrogation of differences by class, race-ethnicity and other factors.
