| Tiivistelmä: | This paper discusses small, distributed electrical power generators, that represent a potential substitute for large power plants. The analysis of a case study shows that the step from experimental research & development to commercial production is particularly difficult for the incumbents, because distributed generators are based on a `plug-and-play´ logic, while manufacturing of large power plants rests upon extensive systems integration capabilities. |
