| Tiivistelmä: | Until recent years, the labour force of hospitality and tourism industries has largely consisted of foreign workers. Now the government has implemented a policy mandating expatriates to be replaced by local workers for there is increasing unemployment among Saudi nationals. This causes challenges for hotel and tourism industry: the pay of some jobs is too low for locals, there are jobs which local residents would not prefer doing, and the technical expertise of expatriate managers has to be transferred to Saudi workers. |
