| Tiivistelmä: | All mediators confront the challenge of how to encourage co-operation among parties in a mediation. The paper is based on a phenomenological study of workplace mediation and it explores the variables that are linked to the emergence of co-operation between parties. First, factors influencing the desire to co-operate are identified and categorized, based upon whether they help or hinder co-operation. Second, the characteristics of co-operative and antagonistic mediation climates are compared in order to better understand how co-operation is established during the mediation process. |
