| Tiivistelmä: | This article focuses on the co-evolution between an institutional form and company-level strategies over an extended period of time. The content and evolution of the institutional environment surrounding Finnish paper and pulp companies between 1918 and 1995 are studied. The study includes two elements. First, the de facto institutional structures affecting corporate strategies are identified by parcelling the institutional environment to a set of informal and formal rules. Second, the consequences of the shared institutional environmental vis-à-vis competitive actions undertaken by the companies are examined. |
