Tiivistelmä:This paper investigates the cross-border circulation of reality programming among European countries, taking Big Brother as an example. The specificity of the media factor in the process of acculturation, by considering the whole communication process, from production to reception is tested. The author assesses acculturation filters that the media appears to apply, and develops the notion of "situated" acculturation that may reflect better the fundamental stakes at work in such cultural transfers.
