| Tiivistelmä: | The paper explores ethical issues relating to the international pricing of pharmaceuticals, relying mostly on liberal rights theories, and suggests how and why some of these questions might be resolved. It examines and critiques arguments given by big pharmaceutical companies and discusses issues like current pricing policies, R&D, intellectual property rights, rights to profits and the public good and regulation. A new model is introduced, which would move forward on the pricing of pharmaceuticals, aiming to increase access to essential drugs. |
