| Tiivistelmä: | This article discusses whether official aid paves the way for foreign direct investment or does it divert resources toward unproductive activitie. The authors use data from a large number of developing and emerging economies during the 1990s. The results suggest that the effect is positive for countries in which private agents face a substantial regulatory burden. |
