| Tiivistelmä: | The paper develops the theoretical understanding of the application TQM is such business environments that differ from where it emerged. Adoption of TQM by Greek organizations is a good example of business systems that are less developed but adopt more 'sophisticated' and formal strategic initiatives. How TQM is understood in those organizations is a different story. The paper argues, based on the results of interviews, that there are two business-cultural forces - conservatism and reformism- that affect the awareness and application of total quality concepts. |
