| Tiivistelmä: | A major challenge of eco-efficiency (here as: e/e) measurement is aggregation of environmental (as: env-al.) pressures into a single env-al. damage index. It is examined how the data envelopment analysis (DEA) method can be adapted for this purpose. DEA accounts for substitution possibilities btw. different natural resources and emissions and does not require subjective judgment about the weights. However, soft weight restrictions can be set into the framework. The proposed approach is applied to assessing e/e of road transportation in the three largest towns of Eastern Finland. |
