| Tiivistelmä: | This study empirically documents the performance and behaviour of family firms (hereafter as: f-frs.) listed on the French stock exchange from 1994 to 2000. In France, appr. 1/3 of the firms are widely held, and 2/3 are f-frs. In the cross-section, f-frs. are found to largely outperform widely held corporations. Explanations for the good performance of family firms are offered. |
