| Tiivistelmä: | This paper deals with the role of management consultants (henceforth as: consts.) in the diffusion of fashionable ideas by drawing on an ethnographic study of management consts. in the U.K. It was explored how the consts. made sense of a newly emerging discourse of work-life balance. Using the metaphor of a 'bandwagon', shifting interpretations of the work-life balance discourse are revealed. Highlights are the similarities btw. fashion-setters and their audiences in the reflexive and strategic ways etc. |
