| Tiivistelmä: | Albeit it is crucial to understand meeting participation behavior of association members to achieve a well-attended meeting, there has been only little research contributing to theoretical development of this area. Deriving from existing human behavior models, this article introduces the meeting participation model (MPM) in order to be able to explain association members' meeting participation behaviors. Using data on 245 members of the International Council on Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (CHRIE), the model is investigated empirically showing that the MPM fits the data very well. The results suggest also that past behavior and subjective norm are strong predictor of meeting participation intention. |
