| Tiivistelmä: | In Russia the state has involved the enterprise sector increasingly during recent years. The involvements have elicited contradictory reactions from investors. Three company cases were examined to understand the development of privatization and corporate governance in Russia. The findings were compared to other Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). The authors developed a matrix of strategic government policies within the Russian industry as a result from this analysis. They highlight the need for discussion on ownership, control and corporate governance among policy makers, investors and academics. |
