| Tiivistelmä: | Congress events are one of the main segments of the Italian tourism industry. This paper reports on quantitative research which explored the economic impact of congress tourism in the region of South Tyrol in Italy. An analysis of the questionnaires indicates clearly that conference attendees spend more money than traditional tourists. The examination takes into account also leisure activities, not only board and lodging expenditures of the conference delegates during their stay. |
