| Tiivistelmä: | This article discusses the issue of sustainability in sports development. The paper addresses the field's lack of theories by introducing two frameworks suitable for research in the field. The purpose of the first framework is to address definitional issues by identifying different forms of sustainability addressed by sports development programmes. The second framework makes it possible to classify different processes that affect sustainability in sports development. Also a case study of sustainability in the Scottish New Opportunities for PE and Sports Activities programme is presented and discussed. |
