Tiivistelmä:Using empirical evidence from the U.K. grocery sector, this paper examines the significance of ethical and socially responsible (ESR) issues on shoppers' store and product choice decisions. Identified are different ESR shopping motivations, incl. global and local issues in store decisions, product heritage, animal and human rights, and advertising and communications issues in product decisions. Both ESR and other influences are suggested to be important in explaining shopping intentions with these varying according to shopping occasion, especially whether the shopper is undertaking a main or top-up shop etc.
