| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims to introduce a model for the knowledge-based (KB) development (KBD) of a region using a research chair strategy at Tecnologico de Monterrey, Mexico, to describe its impact and to propose its use in organizations generating scientific and technological knowledge, especially research groups (here as: r-grps). The approach employed evolves around a strategy for setting up research chairs, that is, r-grps. headed by a lead investigator. It is concluded that research outcomes at universities, research centers and institutes may be organized around a KB model and a knowledge-information computer system supporting the model. |
