Tiivistelmä:In aiming to achieve sustainable water management, the use of recycled water (hereafter as: rec-w.) is promoted through policy in many parts of the world. However, there are some major barriers to the success of rec-w. use policies with their instruments. This paper aims to establish the key components of community (as: cmnty.) satisfaction (as: satfn.) with rec-w. using a case study of the Mawson Lakes (here as: M-L.) population in South Australia, where rec-w. is used for non-potable (as: n-p.) purposes via a dual water supply system (as: d-w-s-s). There are results reported from a survey of over 160 M-L. residents. A structural equation model (SEM) was developed and tested to explain and predict components of cmnty. satfn. with rec-w. n-p. water use via the d-w-s-s. Results indicate the components of satisfaction with rec-w. use were an individual's positive perception of: the Water Authority's (as: W-A.) communication, trust in the W-A., fairness in the rec-w. system's implementation, quality of the rec-w., financial value of the rec-w. system, and risk associated with rec-w. use (a negative relationship).
