Tiivistelmä:The study examines the sex-segregation and the gender wage gap in the labour market. The Spanish sample of the second round of the European Social Survey (ESS) has been used to analyse the different economic and attitudinal factors that mediate the empirical correlation observed between occupational sex-composition and individual earnings. The findings recommend that the influence on occupational sex-segregation on wages can be explained by workersÂ’ sex-role attitudes, their relative input in domestic production and the job-specific human-capital requirements of their jobs.
