| Tiivistelmä: | The transnational (hereafter as: trln.) solution (as: sln.) developed by Bartlett and Ghoshal is found to be suitable for merely a few special cases of multinational enterprise (MNE) strategy and structure (here as: s-and-s). MNEs are in need of regional, not trln. s-and-s., as most of their assets and sales (here as: a-and-s.) are within their home region. This paper provides data on the regional (as: rgl.) dimension of a-and-s. of the world's largest 500 MNEs. It is explored how the empirical reality of a rgl. concentration of a-and-s. imposes a regional rather than the trln. sln. |
