| Tiivistelmä: | In the 20th century economics, Lionel Robbins' Essay is one of the most influential methodological works. The Essay is not philosophically seamless, exhibiting certain tensions. These issues are discussed. It is emphasized that the tensions did not inhibit the influence of the Essay within economics. In fact, these philosophical tensions are argued to have actually been contributing to its influence. |
