Tiivistelmä: | Unwinding form work during leisure has been in focus lately as poor unwinding has been associated with negative health. This study explores the post-work unwinding process. Interviews were conducted with workers who find it difficult to switch off from work (high ruminators, here as h-r's) and with those who find it easy (low ruminators here as l-r's). Three main themes were elicited using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis:(1) work philosophy, (2) coping strategies and (3) coping outcomes. The results suggest that the h-r's perceive blurred boundaries between work and leisure, whereas the l-r's view the work and leisure as distinct speheres. Both acknowledge the health benefits of unwinding. |
