Tiivistelmä: | The article reports and interprets findings from an investigation of work redesign and the introduction of a new occupational position, nurse practitioner(here as:NP). The study shows that pressures for differentiated quality, economic use of resources and integration of workflows explain the increase of differentation of occupations. It is shown that development of the new position and it's contribution to performance depend on the delegation of medical tasks to NPs. Two aspects of intensity of occupational division of labour are identified: the number of occupations present and the rigidity/flexibility of occupational specialization. |
