| Tiivistelmä: | This article deals with financial institutions' social responsibilities in developing countries. This specific social responsibility is the performance of the social function of financial intermediaries, which, in case of emerging countries, consists of contributing to economic growth and solving the problem of poverty. The article describes technical-economic and moral problems related to banking operations in microfinancing, especially in Latin America. This paper also helps define financial institutions' social responsibility in emerging countries. |
