| Tiivistelmä: | This research note comments on Starbuck's article about the causes of faddishness in the social science research (Starbuck, B. (2009). The constant causes of never-ending faddishness in the behavioral and social sciences. Scandinavian Journal of Management, 25(1), 108-116). It highlights some other possible causes of research fads that result from interaction between the institutional arrangements of modern academic and the limitations of the research methods. A neophyte institutionalist view is taken with a soft spot for population ecology. |
