| Tiivistelmä: | This article presents an explicit comparison btw. the reconfiguration of tertiary language education in Europe, the USA and Canada. It is argued that, in spite of certain minor differences btw. the continents, the same trends are valid across the Atlantic. Each of them is examined, illustrating how similar forces are shaping higher education (here as: h-e.) language teaching, how analogous policy frameworks are employed and how parallel challenges and responses can be uncovered. It is concluded that unifying efforts and connecting initiatives produce highly beneficial effects for advancing the application of h-e. language policy all-over the world. |
