Tiivistelmä:This study explores many proposed relationships (henceforth as: r-ships) among professional ethical standards, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and the perceived role of ethics and social responsibility (SR). Data are gathered using mailed self-report questionnaire from over 310 business managers registered with a large professional research association. Using mediated regression analysis, it is indicated that perceptions of CSR partially mediated the positive r-ship btw. perceived professional ethical standards (as: prcd. prof. e-stds.) and the believed importance of ethics and SR. Perceptions of CSR also fully mediated the negative r-ship btw. prcd. prof. e-stds. and the subordination of ethics and SR. The results suggest that professions should develop e-stds. to encourage SR.
