| Tiivistelmä: | This paper offers new estimates of monitoring impacts by exploiting plausibly exogenous periods with search monitoring being temporarily withdrawn during a series of benefit office repairments in Northern Ireland. As expected, withdrawal of monitoring significantly increases the stock of unemployment benefit recipients through reduced outflows. |
