| Tiivistelmä: | This study deals with conditions for efficient communication in decentralised and risk exposed organisations (henceforth as: orgs). Such orgs. are viewed with formal and vertical relationships btw. leaders and subordinates being sufficient to offering all orgs. members the information needed to perform their work. Yet, it is herein speculated on whether informal horizontal relationships btw. colleagues at all orgs. levels would better satisfy the communication needs. Based on hierarchical regression analyses using data from a maritime organisation, there is support provided for this assumption. |
