Tiivistelmä:This paper examines how motivational, volitional, emotional, and cognitive components' interrelation leads to corruption by proposing an action model. The model is tested using a business simulation game with student participants. The results of the PLS structural equation modeling show that both an attitude and subjective norm favouring corruption leads to a desire to act corruptly. Given high perceived behavioural control, this desire is transformed into an intention finally resulting in corrupt action. Based on these results, discussed are preventative measures and methods for combating intra- and inter-organizational corruption.
