Tiivistelmä: | For several organizations (hereafter as: org/s.), integration is a primary challenge. In hybrid org/s. tension is created btw. different parts of the org/s. due different goals and internal logic. Middle managers (herein as: m-mgrs.) have a key role for managing these tensions. Based on an exploratory case study design, this article examines what m-mgrs. within hyper-text org/s. do to relieve the tension and to promote the process of integration. Data was collected through interviewing, observing and shadowing four managers for a week each. By presenting two observed periods, this paper shows how m-mgrs. can contribute to the integration by reducing the immediate tension through showing care towards others in the organisation (original in Norwegian). |
