Tiivistelmä:Affordability becomes an important element of the European social model and its constitutional dimension will be confirmed by the Treaty of Lisbon and the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union (EU). This paper explores different regulatory strategies employed in the United Kingdom (U.K.), France, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, focusing especially on the situation in the two new member states (as: MS), to respond to the question as to whether the different regulatory strategies offer what is promised, that is, affordable energy for all.
