| Tiivistelmä: | The article discusses the role of HRM in an organizations. HRM is often regarded as a business issue, which can be accelerated by new developments. High pressure is placed o the HR functions to enhance the company's performance, yet at the same time HRM should remain cost efficient. This paper investigates the implications that can derive from these issues. Furthermore, the effect of redesigning HR work in terms of HR professional expertise, the definition of legitimate HR work, and changing relationships between managers and employees is examined. |
